Who wants a free ’50 Shades of Grey’ soundtrack CD?

The tantalizing soundtrack...

The movie’s soundtrack has already set new sales records.

BY MELISSA RUGGIERI

Many people found “Fifty Shades of Grey” tantalizing.

I did not.

The soundtrack, however, is another story.

Easily the most provocative and highest quality contribution to this whole phenomenon, the score by Danny Elfman and songs from a range of acts including The Weeknd, Sia and, yep, Sinatra are a goldmine of material.

Additionally, that sexed-up, slowed-down remake of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” – which served an able purpose in the film’s early trailers – is even more intoxicating in full form.

Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” is already a No. 1 smash worldwide and heading for the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 – and for good reason. It’s the first time her airy, girlish vocals have truly connected with their material since her 2011 U.S. breakthrough, “Lights.”

And Annie Lennox…oh, Annie Lennox.

She stole the Grammys with her fiery live rendition of “I Put a Spell On You,” originally found on last year’s outstanding “Nostalgia” album. The Screamin’ Jay Hawkins song popularized by Nina Simone is in adept hands and Lennox’s visceral version is the perfect soundtrack opener.

This “Fifty Shades” compilation has already earned chart status as the biggest debut for a multi-act soundtrack since 2005’s “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” with 50 Cent, Mobb Deep, Young Buck and others. The album opened with 210,000 copies sold, the largest soundtrack debut since Michael Jackson’s “This is It” in 2009.

So…how about a free copy? Thanks to our friends at Universal Records, I have one to pass along. (You can check out the full track listing here.)

If you’d like to participate, send an email to mruggieri@ajc.com by noon on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Please put “50 Shades CD” in the subject line (not “Fifty,” but “50” – it helps with email sorting). If you put anything else in there, I won’t see your email and you won’t be eligible to win. Only one entry per email address. Also, you will receive my out of the office message – because I’m out of the office for a few days – but be assured your entry has been received.

Good luck!
