Extreme metal progenitors live again as Venom Inc.


Few early '80s acts made as big an impact on the shape of metal to come as Venom. The group's 1982 sophomore album, Black Metal , remains Venom's finest hour, serving as a template for thrash and death metal, and lending an extreme metal sub-genre its name.

Enduring popularity, and perhaps some bad blood, has the U.K.-born legends existing as two separate lineups.…
