Atlanta Music Project Selected As PlayUSA Grant Recipient

The Atlanta Music Project was one of seven instrumental music education programs from across the United States selected as a grant recipient of Carnegie Hall’s PlayUSA program. An initiative of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, PlayUSA is “a program that supports a wide range of instrumental music education projects across the United States, all specifically designed to reach low-income and underserved students on a local level.”

In addition to grant money for specific education and program initiatives for the 2016-2017 school year, partner organizations receive consultation with Carnegie Hall staff to address industry-specific challenges and encourage best practices, and training and professional development for teaching artists. Representatives from each PlayUSA organization also convene at Carnegie Hall twice annually to meet each other and engage with leaders in the music education field.
