Mark Ronson, The Band Perry, Ziggy Marley and Allen Stone are helping The Recording Academy find new talent.
The third annual Grammy Amplifier initiative launched Tuesday at http://ift.tt/Wysxf5.
Ronson, who is currently riding the charts with “Uptown Funk,” is the ambassador of this year’s program who, along with the aforementioned curators, will mentor emerging artists.
The team will vet talent via online submissions and select three winners who will be awarded one of the following prizes:
- A studio recording session with a Grammy-winning producer
- Filming and starring in their own music video with a noted director or
- Securing an opening spot for a noted musician and/or at a music festival
Artists will enter their submissions on the GrammyAmplifier.com site and based on their track plays and social media “amplifications,” the 25 finalists will be corralled for a mentorship experience, followed by a whittling down process until the final three winners are chosen.
