C.J. Boyd, the noise vagabond who has been touring for the past seven years, recently released his eighth full-length since 2001, Precariat. His Bandcamp boasts even more titles, though, including a number of releases from other projects including Desert Center, Kurva Choir, Rhonya, and Move. Though his material shows a significant amount of breadth, Precariat is truly an exercise in minimalism, utilizing tape loops and drones to create an atmosphere that is as meditative as it is surreal, with Boyd's singing evoking memories of underwater DMT excursions.…
