The 13th annual Chicken Raid raises money for blues veterans

He might not have been a nationally known blues star, but in Atlanta Mr. Frank Edwards was a local legend and recognized figure about town. After he passed in 2002 at the age of 93, Mudcat aka Dan Dudeck, a much younger Atlanta bluesman, helped start a benefit concert, dubbed Chicken Raid, after the title of one of Edwards’ better known tunes.…

Show Preview: Adventure Club @ Opera Nightclub

After only four years in existence, Adventure Club has quickly become one of the most popular EDM duos in the world. They encompass everything you want in a DJ; melodic female vocals, hard drops and incredible energy and passion that never fails.

The duo consists of Canadian natives Christian Srigley and Leighton James who met each other in high school. The two originally began as a pop-punk band, but decided to transition into EDM after becoming bored with the sound. Their first attention grabbing song was a remix of “Daisy” by alternative/rock band Brand New, which was put on an MP3 blog aggregator website. Through the use of online social networks and with a bit of luck, Adventure Club was featured on the UKF Dubstep YouTube Channel, which currently has over 5,700,000 followers. The duo was signed under The Standard Group, a management team that they give great credit to in the production of their sound.

From shows in North America to Europe, the two show no signs of stopping. With a mix of electro style to trap to hardstyle, there is never a dull moment with this duo.

Adventure Club will be at Opera Nightclub Friday Jan. 30 at 10 pm.
